  • Check if the soil’s moisture content.
  • Add Nitrogen-rich fertilizer to enrich the soil.
  • Select which method of planting you want to use for your soil.
  • Ensure seed distance properly using either instruments or eyeballing if you have done.
  • Seeds should be planted at least 1 inch inside the ground.
  • Rows should be at least 12 inches apart.
  • After planting, add a bit of water to moisten
  • Add compost around the seed.
  • Add a moisture-retaining substance like mulch to hold onto the moisture.
  • When you observe the grasses and seeds have turned golden, harvest your crops for usage.

How Long Does It Take for Millets to Grow?

Roughly, on average, it takes about 70-90 days to mature. Post-harvest, the seed is usually ready 70 to 90 days after planting. Depending on which millet, it may take a few days more or less than 90 days.
